Challenge Background
The challenges facing livestock farming are diverse and numerous. A lack of herbs to feed the animals, coupled with a farmer-herder problem, is causing food insecurity. Disordered rainfall patterns further compound this issue, making it difficult to obtain sufficient grass and water to sustain the livestock. The lack of an off-grid system to reach underground water adds to the existing challenges. Consequently, there is a scarcity of resources to feed all livestock, including sheep, beef, chicken, and camel on the farm. These challenges require innovative solutions to ensure the sustainability and profitability of livestock farming.
What we are looking for
We are looking for an innovative permanent water system by connecting boreholes with solar water pumping systems. Integrate a technology capable of producing grass from seed to harvest within seven days using its electrical system.
And a technology to enable feeding animals in harsh climate settings.
Solution criteria
Minimum maintenance
Minimum energy consumption
Minimum chemicals required.
Off grid system
Easy to use with minimal human interventions/presence on site
Low cost
Easy installation
What we offer
We offer a reach to the local market & training to support implementation
